Production per type

Renewable energies are forms of energy whose consumption does not diminish the resource on a human scale. Hydraulic energy, with its dams, is part of it since the dams, once built, do not impact on the resources. New renewable energies have appeared more recently. They are generally subsidized (via the RPC in principle), because they are considered less profitable than fossil fuels (oil, gas, etc.). New renewable energies include photovoltaic solar energy, mini-hydro, geothermal energy, wind energy and biomass. The Valais, spearhead of Swiss hydroelectricity, has also become, over the years, an important producer of new renewable energies. Their production increases spectacularly from year to year.
